  The Mbalmayo District Hospital is a 4th category public institution, made up of 16 buildings dating from at least 1935 and which has benefited from Sinco-Cameroonian cooperation since 1974; it became a District Hospital in 1996. The Mbalmayo District Hospital is located opposite the Newtown Public School and is surrounded by state property, the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Justice and Peace Monument, the Health District of Mbalmayo The plus of this hospital is the acupuncture brought back by Sino-Cameroonian cooperation. Acupuncture is a method of Chinese origin, practiced for thousands of years. It is traditionally used to support the body on an energetic level by stimulating specific points of the body using needles planted on the surface of the patient's skin.
